When Bas discovers all the people around him are really balloons, he starts popping everyone on the street. Until he stabs Jacques, a human being of flesh and blood, who now threatens to bleed out. Bas attempts to save him, but Jacques has something else in mind. The short film revolves around the last moments these two souls share on earth.

A surreal black comedy about the search for a connection in an alienating world.

Pure Air premiered at Keep An Eye Festival 2018 at the EYE Film Museum Amsterdam, and was created in collaboration with VPRO.
