In 2021, Waakhond released Tweeling EP, a story of love and loss. The shadow emerges, claims its space. Jealousy, self-hatred, shame, narcissism. Wounds are embraced, dissected. In a raw personal unraveling, traditional narratives on love and intimacy fold open to show their roots in trauma.
Music, image and performance transform this painful vulnerability into a multi-dimensional alternative pop universe - as experimental as it is accessible.
This movement is continued in image: an infrared camera captures a ghostly rebirth. Ten iPhones fragment and distort performing bodies. An MRI scan laments a loss.
These elements come together on stage in physical, raw and vulnerable performance. The release of Tweeling took place at Cinetol Amsterdam, after which performances at Tivoli Vredenburg Utrecht and Frascati Amsterdam followed.
In 2026 debut album Godsdrift will be released.
